Description of Problem:
The dome shutter motor is not always able to shut the
doors without being persuaded (kicked).

Possible Consequences If Problem Persists:
The dome may not shut if rain comes.  Remote shutdowns are risky.

Take the motor off and take it to the motor company to look at it.

Update Information:

A new dome motor is on order.  Plans to do the maintanance on the
upper wheels of the dome shutter are under way.  Since this is
rather risky to life and limb of those who will do it, we wish to
exercise some caution.

Update Information:

In the time since this WTR was created, the shutter motor has been repaired numerous times.  As of Oct 1st, 2007 it appears that it is due for another trip to Palo Alto Electric Motors.

Identical replacement motors are no longer available, so a substitute should be found and a new mounting bracket machined for it.  A backup
substitute should be purchased.

We have purchased a new dome door motor and will fabricate an adaptor plate and install it soon.
